Dover Kitchen Restoration

 Before

After

What a pleasure it was to meet and work with the homeowner of this house. A young woman with a vision and clear plan for execution is a thing to be honored. Our client purchased this historic home in downtown Dover, New Hampshire and has immediately gotten to work remodeling and restoring while she goes. Each room she has worked on has some sort of call back to the original grandeur of the home. I was extremely excited to watch this project transform.

Our client wanted to move the kitchen to a completely different room and open up the wall resulting in a large eat-in kitchen attached to a dining area, a powder room, the butler's pantry, and the formal dining room all on the back end of the house. The ceiling height in this house allowed us to select upper cabinets that had either additional glass cabinets stacked on top for display or closed-door cabinets for extra storage.

Keeping in line with the house's time frame and grandeur of the house, the homeowner selected one of our custom hoods—the results are stunning. In each season she now has a hearth as part of her kitchen where she can place her fresh flowers, holiday decor, or anything else she desires. We added a custom pull-out pantry for all her baking supplies and finished the back wall off with a paneled fridge. The island is a working island with a sink flanked by a dishwasher on one side and double trash pull-outs on the other. From the color to the door style, the end panels to the storage on the back end, islands don't get much better than this.

We used Fieldstone Cabinetry in this kitchen, the overlay is beaded inset, and the door style throughout is Athens with Bottle Green on the island and Macadamia on the wall run. For countertops, we selected Viatera Carbo Quartz for the wall run and Allena Bianca Quartz on the island.
