Instead of having a dining room table in the kitchen space, we stole the entire room for the kitchen and dry bar,  moved the table into a formal dining room area thus allowing us to have an oversized island with seating. These clients have beautiful vegetable gardens outside and this was the perfect occasion to use our wicker basket cabinet for daily use of onions, potatoes, and other root vegetables. We included a pantry with roll out trays, a tray divider cabinet, spice pull out cabinet, pots and pans drawer, a microwave cabinet, tall oven cabinet with storage space above and below, and a super lazy susan base cabinet. We placed open shelving in the dry bar area and an open bookcase on the end of the island to highlight the client's beautiful artwork and cookbooks. We bulked the island up a bit by adding two storage cabinets flanking either end of the chair space.
